Simplified tax filing for small company with annual revenue <= sgd 5 mil

For my reference, for Singapore company with annual revenue < sgd 5 mil, Inland revenue authority of Singapore (IRAS) provided simplified tax filing form C-S (reference here).

The IRAS form C-S comprise 3 pages of the following field

  • declaration statement of company’s eligibility
  • information on tax adjustments
  • Information from the financial accounts

No document, i.e. financial statements or tax computation, is required unless requested.

Eligible criteria

  • Annual revenue < sgd 5 mil (exclude source income from interest)
  • incorporated in Singapore
  • company originate income taxable at prevailing corporate tax rate of 17%,
  • company not claiming any of following within the year of assessment (YA): (1) carry-back current yr capital allowances/losses, (2) group relief, (3) investment allowance, (4) foreign tax credit & tax deducted at source

Tips for filing IRAS form C-S

  • Check eligibility: (1) IRAS form C-S criteria met, (2) authorize an “approver” for “Corporate Tax Matters” via e-Services Authorization system (EASY), (3) have company’s tax reference number and Singpass/IRAS pin, (4) ready company’s financial accounts & tax computation (or use basic corp tax calculator).
  • For (2), get e-service access code by applying via pdf form. Submit to IRAS via fax/email.
  • For (2), with e-service (EASY) authorize yourself (or 3rd party) as “approver”.
  • login to myTax portal via Singpass/IRAS pin, then key in organization tax ref no., then, select organization/biz tax matters.
  • select corp tax, select file form c-s/c.
  • select YA, select form c-s, then complete online form or save as draft if not able to complete within time.
  • click confirmation page; save/print confirmation page before submit.
  • acknowledgement will be sent upon successful filing.
